BLOCKING
In Tae Kwon Do there are many different types of blocks used in order to avoid
an attack. Through many hours and years of practice these movements become
second nature. The above picture is an example of a high block. Such a block
would be used to avoid a punch as well as an attacker with a club like weapon.
All of the different blocks are taught and then practiced with the aid of one
step sparring. One step sparring allows one to work on accuracy and to become
more comfortable with someone punching at your face. It instills confidence in
your technique and your ability to defend yourself.
