MYNE IS YOUR ONLINE CAMPFIRE

Our mission is put the most important human knowledge - the truth about you and your closest relationships - at your fingertips. You play provocative games with your inner circle, and discover the most important people in your life.

People: You and your inner circle, because these are the people who matter most.

Place: Intimate, because you discover yourself and inner circle at a campfire, not a cocktail party.

Thing: Provocative games, because you never can have enough fun.

Myne was created by a group of artists, scientists and technologists who believe that knowledge is powerful and fun is essential.

Lukman

Lukman Ramsey - CTO

Lukman has spent his professional and academic career trying to solve "hard problems", like how to build conscious machines, or design human-computer speech dialogs, or get ahold of his wife. Prior to Myne he co-founded and was CTO of Talk2Us, and has held senior engineering or technical management positions at Viecore, General Magic, Indicast, and Radius. He enjoys hiking and camping, spending time with his two kids, and is an avid baseball fan.

Greg

Gregory Mueller - Creative Director

Gregory is a veteran designer, dreamer and empathetic soul. At 9 years old, he played computer games on the Commodore 64 with his father. At 16 he interned at the National Robotics Engineering Consortium (NREC). At 20 he did his undergradate Co-op at MAYA Design. Prior to Myne, Gregory led various design efforts for Yahoo in New York. Gregory is a proud alumn of the Human-Computer Interaction program at Carnegie Mellon University.

PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY IS OUR CHIEF CONCERN.

First, the default setting of every Myne account is "private." Think Fort Knox, not Facebook. No one can access, or even catch a glimpse of, your Myne profile from outside your account. And unless you explicitly choose to share your information, it remains private. Moreover, your account is invisible—no Myne user can locate you onsite, and nobody else can locate your Myne account offsite.

Second, your data is stored with Amazon's cloud, which is protected by a robust range of security measures designed to protect extremely sensitive information (like financial and health records) and which complies with all federal laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal data. (see http://aws.amazon.com/articles/1697?_encoding=UTF8&jiveRedirect=1)

Third, we are developing measures that will allow you to (a) purchase your data outright; and (b) erase your data completely if you leave the site.

Your privacy and security is fundamental to our goals and ethos.

We want you to know what we do with your data and how we protect your security.

WHAT DOES MYNE DO WITH MY DATA?

The first thing we do with your data is "anonymize" it, which means that we strip all personally identifiable information from it. That includes your email address. We will never distribute this information for any reason. Second, we aggregate that anonymous data according to demographic indicators—age, gender, location, etc.

Next, we sell certain segments of data to entities interested in them. Because that data is both anonymous and aggregated, no organization that purchases our data can trace it back to a particular individual. Finally, in a separate section of the site, we are considering (1) allowing you to track which products you use and (2) allowing companies whose products you use to offer you coupons, questions and advertisements. Such targeting is conducted arranged by an algorithm (i.e., a formula) that does not store data long-term, and does not allow advertisers access to release user information to the advertiser.
